Do you Know Who Watches over
Your friends and neighbors while you Sleep

Tales from the
If you're ever up late sometime on a Tuesday through Saturday night and you have not met Ben, please stop by the local corner store, Speedy Stop, (AKA Everyday Store, Circle K, etc.), at the corner of Hudson Bend Road and RR 620 anytime after 11:00 P.M.
Ben, is the strange little man, behind the counter that has truly seen it all. When Ben walks into the store at the beginning of his shift his eyes are roaming, all over the place he can tell you where everything is and if something is, out of place he will be the first to know. He will immediately know who is in the store, and what they are planning to purchase.
Ben has been on the job for 14 years now, He comes to work every evening with a smile on his face and a quite spoken tone delivers a kind word for everyone coming thru his doors.
The store is Ben's domain and he enjoys the people of the night that come by the way station in route to their next life experience.
Some of the neighbors bring him food and others bring conversation. This is a good mark for how much Ben is appreciated.
It's hard to find people that are willing to hold a job down for that long a period of time. The store is the only store opened for miles? Owners may come and go and yet Ben, is still on the job, behind the counter.
Tales from the Ben a point of view of life seen through the eyes of a night clerk at the only 24 hour convenience store minutes from Lake Travis, and the Mansfield Dam area. He has truly seen it all and will be sharing some of his of his experiences here in the Dam News with us, in the near future.
